Winners emerge in Fidelity Bank Save 4 Scholarship promo

Customers of Fidelity Bank Plc, who emerged winners at the second nationwide draw of the bank’s “Save 4 Scholarship” promo, have been rewarded with a total of N12.7 million.

The second nationwide draw, which held in Lagos produced 31 scholarship winners from the ongoing promo in which the sum of N80 million had been earmarked for the promo.

The promo, which is payable over five years and can be converted to cash, was part of Fidelity Bank’s strategies to impact and change the lives of its customers positively especially in the area of education.

The winners emerged from a draw that covered all the regions of the bank’s operations across the country and monitored by various lottery regulatory agencies.

In Lagos area, six winners emerged with two other customers going home with consolation prizes. Two of the customers won N500,000 while four others won N210,000 with two winners getting generating sets.

Speaking on the promo, Executive Director, Shared Services, Fidelity Bank, Mrs. Chijioke Ugochukwu, said the bank appreciates its customers for being loyal and putting their trust in the bank over the years.

She urged the winners to patronise Fidelity Bank more and encouraged them to tell others that what they read on paper was a real project.

According to her, in the first draw held last month, N15.9 million were given to 34 scholarship winners while N12.7 million was given to 31 scholarship winners in the second draw across the six geo-political zones in the country.

She added: “In Lagos alone, six winners emerged with two other consolation prize winners while regulators, customers are witnessing the same ceremony outside Lagos where other 25 scholarship winners were being presented with their cash prizes simultaneously.

“Today we have six scholarship winners and we have two people winning N500,000 each and four people for N210,000. And the people who for one reason or the other are not present here, their own presentation ceremony will take place in their branches across the country. This presentation ceremony is being replicated in the six geo-political zones and 31 winners are having their cash prizes presented to them today across the country.”

Meanwhile, the General Manager, Victoria Island Regional Bank, Emeka Obiagwu, promised that there would always be draw at the end of every month and winners will emerge.

As the bank is giving out N12.7 million to its customers, he said this will continue until the bank exhausts to the total N80 million earmarked for the promo, excluding the consolation prizes.

Speaking at the event, a retired Customs officer, Mrs. Fadeke Adigun, who won N500,000 thanked the bank for its generosity and the level of transparency involved in the promo.

Mrs. Adigun who branded the promo as fraud when contacted by the bank earlier, described the money she won as part of her retirement benefits.

She explained: “I got a retirement cheque from Customs, Immigrations and Prisons Pension Office (CIPPO). Since Fidelity Bank issued the retirement cheque, I decided to open an account with the bank. If not for the cheque, I wouldn’t have won N500,000 and have an account with Fidelity Bank.”
