In celebrating its 10th year anniversary, the management of Susu Microfinance Bank has given out a total sum of N5 million in its ‘1 save, 1 win promo’ to appreciate its various categories of customers for their patronage over the years.
The award which took place in Lagos has 16 customers winning. Eze Nkechi won N1 million, Akilo Moses, N500, 000, while Edet Blessing was among the four customers who won N250, 000. Also, Osokoyo Opeyemi and Ezeokoye Chinyere were among the 10 customers who won N100, 000 each.
Speaking to newsmen in Lagos, the head of operation of the bank, Mr Oba Olayomi said the draw was organised to encourage its customers to embrace savings culture, saying the programme was aimed at changing people’s prospective about microfinance bank as a financial platform to only secure loan.
Also speaking, the head of Human Resource of the bank, Mrs Olayemi Ogunyeye said the bank has decided to organise the draw quarterly to reward more customers.
She said the bank was established to bridge the gap created by commercial banks in the financing of small and medium scale businesses in the country.
“We want to be the choice microfinance bank in Nigeria, offering innovative financial services to financially excluded Nigerian entrepreneurs in an efficient and effective manner within the next five years,” Ogunyeye said.
Susu Microfinance Bank Limited was incorporated on June 29, 2006 as a private company to carry out microfinance banking business after obtaining Central Bank of Nigeria approval in principle on May 31, 2006. The bank is primarily a financial service institution for the unbanked, supporting the development of entrepreneurship and empowerment of the economically disadvantaged micro, small and medium scale enterprises and individuals.
