LEADING indigenous shipping company and a subsidiary of SLOK Group, Slok Shipping, has expanded its fleet’s reach with the acquisition of two additional state-of-the-art 2015-built PX121 platform supply ves- sels.

The company’s Group Managing Director, Firas Abboud in a statement made available to the press on Monday, noted that the addition is another milestone in the company’s vision 2020

aimed at acquiring and operating vessels in the high-end segment of the OSV indus- try.

According to Abboud, the new assets, christened “Slok Energy” and “Slok Powe”, will complement the vessels in the fleet and sup- port deep offshore exploration.

He said, “we wish to inform stakeholders in the offshore sector of the oil and gas industry that Slok has taken delivery two

brand new platform supply vessels. The ships which were built by BritoilSingapore under Slok’s supervision will be available in Nigeria by Q4 2015”.

“We are taking on the challenge that Nigerian companies can compete and excel in all service sectors of the industry. Slok has become a regional player and will not restrict its activities to Nige- rian waters anymore.

In spite of global econom- ic challenges, our management has adopted expansion strategies with the implementation of stringent financial measures to make this acqui- sition possible.

We are determined to continue to satisfy our customers’ requirements by building boats that will not only meet their expectations but also set the pace for future trends.”
