In its determination to deliver more quality services to its audience both within and out side the continent, the Nigeria Television Authority (NTA), the largest network in Africa, has unveiled eight new channels. The unveiling, which took place in Lagos, witnessed the gathering of top management staff, advertisers and personalities in the marketing communication circle.
Speaking on the sideline at the unveiling, the Director General, NTA, Mr. Sola Omole, described the event as a milestone that is meant to usher in opportunities for the station and advertisers. According to him, the addition of new channels and programmes was in line with the network desire to reach out to a large mass of audience based on the languages, information and programmes that meet their peculiar needs. He noted that the company remains committed to providing services and programmes that will not only entertain and educate but also informed them.
At the event tagged “Marketing Open Day”, Omole explained that the event was conceptualised as part of its strategy to remind Nigerians that the station was focused on delivering quality programming as well as providing multiple platforms where such programmes could be aired.
On the challenges and the prospects of the network, Omole said his team was working hard to bridge the skill gap through numerous trainings that have been outlined for the benefits of its workforce.
He noted that the technical challenge being faced by the station would soon become a thing of the past as the Federal Government was trying its best to ensure that all necessary equipment are upgraded to meet international standard.
According to him, the challenge is not insurmountable given the support he is receiving from both the government and the staff in the various places where the stations are located.
Asked how prepared the station is in meeting the deadline set to switch from analogue to digital, Omole said his team was working round the clock to boost its engineering department in all its network stations, noting that the strategic partnership with Startimes remains one of the gains that has ensured the smooth transition going on. He said he was confident it would meet the deadline.
In her remark, the Executive Director of Marketing, Nike Olufade, said the new addition was a good way of capturing more and more audience. She urged advertisers to seize the opportunity to promote their good and services.
