Governor Umaru Tanko Al-Makura of Nasarawa State has revealed that provision would be made for Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in the 2016 budget proposal for their rehabilitation.

He explained that government has come to the realisation that what the people and communities affected communal conflicts and other natural disasters needed at this material time is beyond handouts and relief materials but economic empowerment to be able to revive their lives back on track.

He promised that the budget provision for the rehabilitation of the IDPs will address most of their challenges and create avenues for genuine economic activities within the affected communities.

Almakura said that his administration would continue to ensure the unity of the people of the state and urged them to encourage inter-tribal marriages which promotes peaceful co- existence among communities.

He called on community leaders and the people of the state to reject any form of violence and come together as one.

On his part the deputy governor, Silas Agara promised the governor that all government workers and political appointees would do their best to support the success of the administration.

Agara added that the vision of Al-Makura would go along way in sustaining the much needed development in the state and create a better future for the state.
