Following the demands for effective utilisation of Kaduna Airport as the alternative to Abuja Airport, when the latter must have been closed to traffic, the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA) has started upgrading its navigational facilities at the airport to improve its service to both local and foreign travelers.
In order to meet up deadline for the completion of the projects at the Kaduna airport which arose as a result of flight diversion from Abuja, the managing director of the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency, NAMA, Capt Fola Akinkuotu has moved the director, safety electronics and engineering services (DSEES), Engr Farouk Ahmed Umar to Kaduna.
According to investigation, Engr Umar is expected to remain in Kaduna, pending the completion of all necessary technical works, including the installation of the Instruments Landing System (ILS). The Kaduna Airport, LEADERSHIP gathered had before now, played host to local flights and few Hajj flight operations on seasonal basis.
