The Chief Executive Officer of Monimichelle ,the firm handling the Enyimba stadium project, Ebi Egbe says he is optimistic the People’s Elephant would return home to their Aba fortress for the money spinning group stage of the CAF Champions League.
Enyimba who survived all manner of attacks in Sousse, Tunisia to qualify for the group stage would know their opponents in the four-team mini league on May 24 when CAF holds the draw in Cairo.
Egbe pointed out that job at the Enyimba stadium is as good as ninety percent done, pointing out that all that is needed is to lay the cocoa fiber geo technology synthetic turf which is to be imported from Italy.
“Our partners in Italy- Limota are ready for us. Once we get the funds from Abia State government we will get cracking and finish the job in record time. Unfortunately things are tough for governments at every level. We appreciate the financial challenge the Abia State government is facing in executing such a capital intensive project. We hope things would ease off to enable us complete the job. It’s our desire to see Enyimba play before their fans in Aba,” Egbe said.
