Maybe Chicago schools should declare bankruptcy and get it over with, says Moody’s

While unfunded pension liabilities will continue weighing on the City of Chicago’s credit profile—it’s rated Ba1 negative—plans to significantly increase contributions with higher taxes is a favorable departure from prior funding practices, says Moody’s. The liquidity crisis for its public schools is worsening,however.
