Trading on the floor of The Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE), which opened in the on Monday, closed trading northward at the close of trading when both indicators appreciated by 1.09 percent each.

Market Capitalisation closed higher at N9.53 trillion after it appreciated by N106.654 billion as against N9.846 trillion recorded on Friday, while the All Share Index grabbed 320.2 basis points or 1.08 percent to close at 29,882 points as against 29,562.07 points recorded on at the weekend.

Meanwhile, investors bought and sold a total of 254.843 million shares valued at N3.248 billion in 5,501 deals with the financial services sector accounting for a total of 182.327 million shares valued at N1.023 billion in 3,654 transactions.

The banking sub- sector was the most active when investors bought and sold a total of 103.013 million shares valued at N769.593 million in 3,772 transactions.

Seplat Petroleum Development Company led 20 others on gainers’ table when it appreciated by N12.77 to close at N318.00 followed by Breweries’ major, Nigerian Breweries, which grabbed 698 kobo to close at N149.00 per share, Nestle Nigeria added 375 kobo to close at N804.00 per share, GlaxoSmithKline Consumer notched up 200 kobo to close at N42.00 per share, while Dangote Cement nicked 170 kobo o close at N157.70 per share, among others.
