The Lagos Command of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) at the international wing of the Murtala Muhammed Airport (MMA), has said that it has generated over N20.111 billion as revenue from its operations between January and July 2015.
This is just as the command also disclosed that it generated over N5.209 billion in the month of July, being the highest revenue collected by the airport unit since its formation.
The Public Relations Officer of the Lagos Airport Command, Thelma Williams, disclosed this in an interview in Lagos yesterday.
Williams stated that over N179, 326,833.00 million had been collected by the command at the international wing of the Lagos airport between January and July 2015 as revenue accruals on informal trade alone.
The huge amount, she stated, would had been lost if not for the devotion and eagle eyes of Customs officers deployed at the arrival halls of the Lagos international terminal of the Lagos Airport.
Williams said the huge revenue generated was achieved as evidence of the diligence and hard work of the officers and men of the command in the period under review.
