NIGERIA’S U-17 Women’s national team, Flamingoes will get to know their opponents for the Jordan 2016 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup, as world soccer governing body, FIFA holds the competition’s draw today in Amman.
The draw ceremony to be held at the King Hussein Cultural Centre would involve the 16 countries from six confederations that have already qualified for the global showpiece billed for Sep
tember 30- 21 October 2016.
Flamingoes Coach, Bala Nikyu and team administrator, Mary Oboduku are already in Amman, Jordan for the draw ceremony.
Flamingoes would be making their fifth consecutive outing in the tournament in Jordan . The Nigerian teenagers booked their passage to Jordan after beating Namibia and South Africa comfortably.
For the purpose of the draw, Nigeria is placed in POT 2 alongside, Spain, Ghana and Venezuela while
defending champion, Japan , Jordan, Korea, DPR and Germany are placed in POT 1.
Nigeria has reached the quarter – finals in the last three editions of the competition (Trinidad and Tobago 2010, Azerbaijan 2012 and Costa Rica 2014).
