ISPON commends Sterling Bank’s initiative on safety at work

The Chairman, Institute of Safety Professionals of Nigeria (ISPON) Lagos, Commander Timothy Nwaogu has commended Sterling Bank for the sponsorship of the 2015 World Day for Safety and Health, which he said, would help to drive the message to institutions and all Nigerians on the need to take health and safety issues more seriously.

Nwaogu also commended the Bank for cultivating a health and safety culture among its staff adding that this will achieve a multiplier effect as they will take the message to other members of the general public through their families and friends.

“This will help checkmate the issues of health hazards not only at the workplace but also in homes”, he said Regulatory authorities in Health and Safety also  at the weekend commended the Bank for supporting initiatives aimed at promoting health and safety in the environment especially at the work place.

National Coordinator, Safety Advocacy & Empowerment Foundation, Mr. Kadiri Shamsideen who also spoke at the press conference to announce the activities lined up for the 2015 World Day for Safety and Health in Lagos, said Sterling Bank had taken a bold step by joining in the campaign for safety and health at workplace by identifying with the programmes organized by stakeholders in the industry.
