ICPC Takes Anti-Corruption Campaign To Aviation Industry

In keeping with the spirit of the President Muhammadu Buhari led administration in the fight against corruption, the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has embarked on several interventions to sensitise workers in the aviation sector on the ills of the pandemic with a view to cleansing the industry of corrupt practices.

As part of the strategy, the commission organised the maiden anti-corruption training for aviation sector workers, which took place at the Anti-Corruption Academy of Nigeria (ACAN), Keffi, Nasarawa State.

The well attended workshop drew participants from aviation agencies such as the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA), Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), Aviation Authority (NCAA), Accident Investigation Bureau (AIB) and Nigeria Meteorological Agency (NIMET).

Others are the Nigerian Customs Service (NCS) Navy, Immigration, Airport Police, cargo handlers and airlines.

Titled “Anti-Corruption Ethics and Training,” the workshop treated crucial topics such as Effective Communication: A Veritable Tool for Entrenching Transparency and Accountability, Work Ethics and Integrity in Public Service, Ethical Issues in the Aviation Sector: Departure and Arrival at the Airport and International Standards and Best Practices in aviation.
