English Premier League (EPL) leaders, Chelsea, yesterday at the Stamford Bridge, beat battling Swansea City 3-1 to stretch their lead at the top of the table to 11 points.
Victor Moses made his 50th start for the Blues and was subbed out in the 85th minute, Chelsea’s first goal came off the feet of Cesc Fabregas, who marked his 300th Premier League appearance.
The hosts were stunned when Swansea equalised from their first serious attempt on target on the stroke of half-time – Fernando Llorente headed in Gylfi Sigurdsson’s free-kick.
However, Fabregas’ shot hit the bar before Pedro’s curling effort restored the lead and Diego Costa netted the third from close range.
Swansea were denied a penalty when Cesar Azpilicueta handled the ball inside his area at 1-1.
