A one billion naira Bola Ige Mechatronics Institute, Esa-Oke midwived by Osun State Investment Company Limited, Osogbo was officially commissioned on Thursday 10thSeptember, 2015 has started operational in Osun State.
The project is funded by National Automotive Design and Development Council while Bank of Industry (BOI) will serve as fund manager.
A statement by the Chairman of the planning committee, Mrs. Yidiat Babalola state that the commissioning was yet another laudable project that demonstrates Governor Aregbesola’s commitment to improve the skill set of auto technicians in the country.
The institute according to the statement would serve as a training ground on modern day automobile repars. Consequently, the potential beneficiaries are automobile technicians who need further training in new techniques of motor vehicle repairs.
The institute which is located within the campus of Osun State College of Technology, Esa-Oke, houses the very latest state-of-the-art equipment and tools to provide training to auto technicians all over the country.
“The immediate gain for the establishment of this Institute is, apart from providing job opportunities for the citizenry, it would elevate the State of Osun as the destination point for Motor Vehicles repairs in Nigeria.
“The trainers employed by the Institute were first exposed to overseas training with the firm of Lucas Nulle in Germany who is the Technical Partner to the project. They are well equipped to train our Technicians all over Africa, the statement said.
