ARSENAL may have won yesterday’s EPL home tie against Norwich, but it is clear all is well at the Emirates, where a section of the fans want the club’s veteran coach, Arsene Wenger to take a walk.
Unlike in the past when Wenger enjoyed unalloyed support, some fans who apparently are not impressed with the club’s run this term want him to quit and they did not hide their feelings as they booed him during the game against Norwich.
The pro-Wenger fans in a swift reaction rose in support of the coach as chants in his favour broke out shortly after the original protest.
The Gunners managed a 1-0 victory over Norwich in yesterday’s tie, a victory that has further boosted their chances of finishing in the top four and playing in the UEFA Champions League next term.
Team of the moment, Leicester will today storm Manchester United in a match that could see them being crowned EPL kings even with two more matches to go. A victory for Leicester means its all over as it would be practically impossible for second placed Tottenham to catch up with them. Leicester goes into the game against United with a commanding seven points lead.
The first trip Leicester made this term to Manchester was a sweet one for Claudio Ranieri and his boys as they made a mincemeat of Manchester City winning 3-1 at Etihad. Everything points to the Foxes getting a result at Old Trafford today.
Elsewhere in the La Liga, the trio of Barcelona, Real Madrid and Atletico won their games with Barcelona retaining their top position.
Ivan Rakitic and Luis Suarez both found the net as Barcelona beat Real Betis 2-0 to return to the top of La Liga.
Luis Enrique’s men initially struggled to break their rivals down in Sevilla but Rakitic opened the scoring in the 50th minute, before Suarez completed the scoring with nine minutes remaining.
Barca subsequently return to the summit, overtaking Atletico Madrid, who had beaten Rayo Vallecano earlier in the day.
Gareth Bale was the hero of the day in the Real Madrid, Real Sociedad clash. He headed in the only goal for his side in the 41st minute.
