Nigerian Independent Petroleum Company, NIPCO plc, one of the  indigenous marketing companies  in the nation’s oil and gas industry, has appreciated its staff,  describing them as a key component  in the success story of the company since the commencement of commercial operation  in 2004 .

The Chairman of the company, Chief Bestman P. Anekwe stated this at the tenth anniversary and special recognition award ceremony to show gratitude for the contribution of staff and key promoters of the organization in the last ten years.

According to him, the event which is the first of its kind in the history of the company is a commendable feat as it provides avenue to value publicly the efforts of the human capital and some founding fathers whose efforts accounted mainly for the steady growth of the organization.

Going down memory lane, Chief Anekwe said, the NIPCO dream which some people had thought is mission impossible has become a reality even in the face of some daunting challenges to the delight of numerous stakeholders.

He singled out the wonderful support of two founding fathers of the company – Alhaji Abdulkadir Aminu and Mr Tunji Adeniji with whom he travelled across the nooks and crannies of the country soliciting the support of independent fuel marketers to key into the project.

“The trio went through lots of tribulations from the onset of nurturing the firm but our greatest joy today is that the dream of the promoters had crystallized to level even beyond our projections, especially against the background  of what its peers were able to achieve within a decade,“ the Chairman noted .

He stated that foes  of the project at inception are now jostling for recognition as being part of the success story, adding that the board is undaunted and will continue to propel the management to attain greater heights in the industry.

The Managing Director,  of the Company,  Mr Venkatapathy Venkataraman in his speech noted that as key element in the rising profile of the company, management will continue to provide enabling environment for staff to excel and thrive on a continuous basis.

He described the event as yet another demonstration on management’s resolve to continually appreciate  the workforce peerless contribution to the growth of the company, stressing that the feat had encouraged the company to deliver exceptional results in recent times.

Mr Venkatapathy enjoined staff to continue to put in their best, adding: ‘’management is committed to having a cohesive workforce and intend keeping an open door policy for all staff to improve the communication line in the organization.‘’

According to him, all hands should be on deck to maintain the good image the company has built in the last decade which had made her to remain a benchmark for other operators, adding that the plethora of commendations and awards received so far are pointer to our ratings in the industry.

The MD pledged to work in unity with the board in ensuring that staff, processes and systems are in line with the company’s growth objectives of being first choice to all stakeholders in the oil and gas industry.

Executive Director, Corporate Services, Alhaji Aminu Abdulkadiri in his remarks hailed the current transformation in the company which had touched positively both the human and material element, adding that improved productivity and excellent service delivery to our numerous publics hold the key to its continuity.
