Financial experts have proffered solutions to the lingering investor apathy in the Nigerian stock market.
The experts, who spoke at the maiden edition of Capital Bancorp Investors’ Forum in Lagos last week, identified investment opportunities in Nigeria and also proposed practical solutions to reinforce investor confidence in the market.
The forum which attracted key speakers from the financial market agreed that the advent of the Over-The-Counter (OTC) market has expanded the investment platform in Nigeria.
Speaking at the forum, an economist and the chief executive officer of RTC Advisory, Mr Opeyemi Agbaje, spoke extensively on investment opportunities in Nigeria. He explained that the privatisation policy of the federal government should be vigorously pursued to enhance economic activities. Agbaje re-affirmed the imperative of the privatisation of the power sector, investment in agriculture for enhanced export and institutional reforms to attract investment into the solid minerals sector.
